Jivespace is a collaborative developer community hosted by Jive Software. It is designed to give developers a space to collaborate on Jive Software products and related technologies in addition to providing information that developers need to build plugins and other features on top of Jive Software products. Join the community of other developers here at Jivespace to help create innovative extensions to Clearspace, Clearspace X, and Jive Forums.
Jive Software exists for one painful reason: it's much easier to find people, updates, and answers on the internet than it is inside a company. Every day companies lose critical knowledge, ideas, and connections by not making it easy for people to get work done. Focused on this issue, Jive Software is delivering "social productivity" software that brings together employees, partners and customers into a unified collaboration system so they can create better products, faster processes and improved relationships. This vision is validated by over 2000 customers, including over 15% of the Fortune 500.
Jive Software is a firm believer in the benefits of supporting open technologies because we know open, collaborative minds can improve the software landscape. We sponsor the Ignite Realtime community and associated products including Openfire, Spark, and more. Other products, like Clearspace and Jive Forums are not open source, but we provide you with the source code allowing full customization and transparency to developers and customers. These products are also offered free of charge to qualifying non-commercial software development communities including open source developer communities and developer user groups. We put tremendous value on the involvement of our developer and customer community, their continuous feedback, QA, and development efforts help steer our development path.
We are committed to being open and transparent to the best of our abilities, to act responsibly and in the best interests of our community and to be highly responsive to the needs of the community and communicate proactively.
As a pure J2EE applications, Jive Forums and Clearspace products are deployable on a wide variety of application servers, from Tomcat to WebLogic and WebSphere. The open database schema is available for many different databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. Out of the box support for LDAP or Active Directory authentication and user data integration is included.
Jive Software is also heavily involved in XMPP (also known as Jabber), the leading open standard for presence and real-time messaging through the Ignite Realtime community.
